A celebration of seeds, and spring, giving you the opportunity to meet other gardeners, chat, swop seeds and get rid of all the seeds you don't want.

£1.00 entry per person - includes a cup of tea or coffee.

We are raising money for the County Air Ambulance again

and see Longbarrow Allotment Site which came second in the Best Allotment Site in 2007 and were also finalists in the  "Dig For Victory"
television competition.

National Allotments Week Family Fun Day (9 August 2008)
Carrickfergus Borough Council
and the Eden Allotment Holders Association

will be launching our new allotment gardens in Eden (off Beltoy Road) & celebrating National Allotments Week in Carrickfergus with a Family Fun Day on Saturday 9 August, from 12 noon.

The Family Fun Day will include a vegetable barbecue, children's games, demonstrations, face painting, plant sales and a vegetable
juggler.
Throughout the week we will be holding open days that include
gardening demonstrations etc. The aims and objectives of the day are:                            a) to have a great day out for all the family;
b) promote the awareness and availability of allotments;
c) to show the strength of support for and interest in the heritage of
allotment culture;
d) highlight the social benefits of allotment gardening, which include benefits to health, education and community well-being to all.

Digging in the Archives: A botanical journey around the county
2 Aug to 31 Oct 2008, Mondays-Fridays 9am-7pm, Saturdays 9am-4pm (closed Bank Holiday Monday)
A free exhibition on the theme of allotments and other aspects of horticulture in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Timed to coincide with National Allotment Week in August, the exhibition will combine displays from the archive collections, relating to Hampshire allotments, gardens and botanists through the years, with new artwork by artist in residence Catharine Clarke. The artist specialises in botanical illustration - and she has included artwork based on her allotment in Winchester.
