The competition is open to all amateur allotment holders in the UK. For the purpose of this competition, amateur means anyone not engaged in fulltime horticultural employment.
Plot sizes: 5 rod (125 sq m) min to 20 rod (500sq m) max.
The winner from each category in last year's competition cannot enter the same category for two years, but may enter any other category.
Employees of Garden News, Emap and paid employees of the National Allotment Gardens Trust and their families cannot enter.
Entrants must permit the judges to visit and photograph their allotments if they so wish.
All entry forms/score cards must be fully and clearly completed in ink or ballpoint pen.
The closing date is Monday June 30th 2008.
By entering the competition, entrants agree to the use of their names and addresses and the contents of their letters and photographs in any subsequent publicity undertaken by Garden News and the National Allotment Gardens Trust.
Neither original letters nor photographs will be returned.
Entry forms and photographs must be ratified and signed by two fellow allotment holders.
The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
No responsibility will be accepted for entries which have been lost, delayed or damaged. Proof of postage will not be accepted as proof of delivery.
